My name is Chris Meads and i am a semi professional photographer based in the North West of England. I like to keep an open mind about the subjects i shoot and consider almost anything to be fair game. I do however have a couple of over-riding preferences.
The first one is the sport of cycling. I have followed cycling for as long as i can remember and it is the one sport i am truly passionate about. When i photograph it i try to look beyond the typical action shots and seek out the personalities that make up the sport. I like to capture the suffering, the triumph and the despair. I follow cycling in its various forms all over the country and try to attend as many top level events as i can
Secondly i do enjoy low light urban photography. I am very fortunate that the region i live in is blessed with two major "international" cities as well as many other bustling towns. I particularly like to capture the mix of architecture, water and lights which i feel shows any area in its best way. I also blog when I can find the time showing my cycling pictures in the context of their capture as well as a few irreverent comments. You can find this here. My photos have featured in Cycling Weekly, The Southern Reporter, The Dorset Echo, Liverbird Greetings and online at Velouk.net, The Melton Times, The Fresh Outlook.com and Torelli Sports
